Haute-Loire : un charpentier du Cantal meurt après être tombé du toit d’une ferme

Vendredi 5 juillet, un trentenaire domicilié dans le Cantal a été victime d’une chute alors qu’il travaillait sur le toit d’une exploitation agricole. Il est mort des suites de ses blessures, au cours du week-end à l’hôpital Nord de Saint-Étienne.

Un grave accident du travail s’est produit vendredi 5 juillet, en milieu d’après-midi dans une exploitation agricole située au lieu-dit Bellevue, commune des Vastres, à la frontière entre la Haute-Loire et l’Ardèche. L’alerte a été donnée par le gérant du Gaec, témoin du drame.

Selon les premiers éléments, le charpentier du Cantal âgé de 35 ans se trouvait seul sur le toit de la ferme afin de réaliser un devis. Une plaque de fibrociment a cédé sous son poids. Le trentenaire a chuté d’une hauteur estimée entre 6 et 8 mètres. Il est tombé sur la dalle en béton de la stabulation.

Les secours ont immédiatement sollicité des moyens aériens pour héliporter la victime vers le centre hospitalier universitaire Nord de Saint-Étienne (Loire). Le gérant de l’entreprise, domicilié à Saint-Flour, y est arrivé dans un état grave. Il est décédé des suites de ses blessures au cours du week-end.

La gendarmerie et l’inspection du travail ont ouvert une enquête conjointe pour déterminer les causes précises de la chute. Une autopsie doit être réalisée au cours des prochains jours.
