Une étude du cabinet de recrutement Robert Walters pointe leur mal-être. Sur 600 managers français interrogés, 14 % confient avoir éprouvé le syndrome de l’imposteur et 27 % ont constaté un manque de moyens et de soutien.

En outre, 54 % de ces managers affirment que leur promotion n’a fait l’objet d’aucune annonce officielle. Ainsi, ils ont l’impression d’avoir été promus mais pas reconnus par leur entreprise.

Ce concept de « manager par accident », présenté comme nouveau, correspond en fait à une réalité ancienne. Une réalité aggravée par la crise du Covid et l’émergence du management à distance. Leur rôle est désormais plus complexe. Et ils doivent également intégrer l’arrivée de la génération Z (personnes nées après 2000) sur le marché du travail.

D’après l’enquête citée par Les Echos, 30 % des managers français interrogés n’ont eu aucune formation à leurs nouvelles responsabilités. Et pourtant, ce n’est pas faute de l’avoir sollicitée, preuve de leurs besoins pour se sentir mieux dans leur poste.

Parmi les managers n’ayant pas demandé de formation, 55 % déplorent un manque de temps pour la suivre, 22 % mettent en cause des coupes budgétaires et 14 % craignent l’avis de leur employeur.
